Rick Gee

About the Artist …
Rick Gee, known artistically as Stimuleye, was born in Columbus, Georgia, and raised in the inner city of Sacramento, California. Surrounded by a family of artists, Rick was immersed in creativity from an early age. His artistic voice has been shaped by bold color palettes, the raw expression of cartoons, and his lifelong curiosity about philosophy and the human experience.
Before turning to traditional art, Stimuleye expressed himself through music, fashion, and design. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013, where he studied and applied foundational design principles. Though he began painting in 2014, it wasn’t until the tragic passing of his daughter in 2022 that painting became his central creative outlet and a vital form of emotional healing.

Stimuleye
Stimuleye is also an accomplished photographer. In 2020, he won 1st place in the AIGA photography competition and was featured in Comstock magazine (October 2020 issue).
Today, Rick Gee continues to push boundaries through collections like “Playfool” and “The Stimpsons,” merging contemporary pop art with themes of nostalgia, cultural commentary, and emotional reflection.
As Stimuleye, his vision is to create work that not only stimulate his viewers visually , but speaks – igniting connection, conversation, and community through art.
